On Friday night from U of G’s Alumni Stadium on the campus of the University of Guelph, the Toronto Argonauts played the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the final preseason game. The Argonauts beat the Tiger-Cats 18-17.
Argonauts’ quarterback Chad Kelly was 8/15 for 85 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, while Tiger-Cats’ quarterback Jamie Newman was 8/8 for 88 yards, one touchdown, and three carries for 16 yards.
Tiger-Cats wide receiver Anthony Johnson had two catches for 44 yards and one touchdown, and Argo’s receiver Isaiah Wright had one catch for six yards and one touchdown. Tiger-Cats wide receiver Lawrence Woods had a punt return for a touchdown that went 99 yards.
The regular season gets underway next weekend as the Redblacks visit the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Friday at 8:30 pm, while the Argonauts are off next week.
