Highlights: New Jersey Generals 25, Michigan Panthers 23

Generals wide receiver KaVontae Turpin returns a punt for a touchdown

On Saturday afternoon at Protective Stadium, the New Jersey Generals (8-1) fought hard to keep their winning streak alive with a 25-23 win over the Michigan Panthers (1-8).

Generals’ quarterback Luis Perez went 10/16 for 92 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions, while backup quarterback De’Andre Johnson was 5/8 for 60 yards, no touchdowns, one interception, and five carries for four yards.

Generals’ running back Trey Williams had 11 carries for 62 yards, and Darrius Shepherd led the receivers with eight catches for 99 yards and one touchdown. Kicker Austin Jones made 2/4 field goals, with his longest being 36 yards.

Generals’ wide receiver KaVontae Turpin returned a 71-yard punt return for a touchdown. The Generals’ defense allowed 336 yards, 59 tackles, one sack, three interceptions, and ten pass breakups.

Panthers’ quarterback Josh Love was 12/21 for 168 yards, two touchdowns, two interceptions, and one carry for five yards, while backup Eric Barriere went 14/24 for 118 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and two carries for 13 yards.

Panthers’ running back Stevie Scott III had 13 carries for 36 yards, and Joe Walker led the receivers with seven catches for 129 yards and two touchdowns. Kicker Cole Murphy made one field goal for 25 yards. The Panthers’ defense allowed 251 yards, 61 tackles, two sacks, one interception, and five pass breakups.
