Ocean City Nor’easters take care of business in Lehigh Valley

On Saturday night at Moravian College, Ocean City Nor’easters (5-0-1) completed a home-and-home sweep for their fifth-straight win with a 3-1 win over Lehigh Valley United (0-6-1). The win tied Ocean City’s club record with a ten-game road unbeaten streak.

The Nor’easters took a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute by midfielder Daniel Diaz-Bonilla. It was his first goal of the season. Ocean City led 1-0 at halftime.

In the second half, Lehigh Valley United tied the game 1-1 in the 63rd minute by Perry Kingston. Then, in the 71st minute, the Nor’easter got the lead back 2-1 by Galen Flynn. Six minutes later, the Nor’easters added an insurance goal from Alessandro Arlotti for a 3-1 lead.

The Nor’easters’ defense canceled Lehigh Valley United’s offense for the rest of the game and won the game 3-1. Ocean City finished the night with 13 shots, and goalkeeper Felix Schäfer made eight of nine saves.

The Nor’easters head to Alvernia University next Friday against Reading United AC at 7 pm on eleven sports.
