Calgary Stampeders signs former Elks cornerback Trumaine Washington

On Wednesday, the Calgary Stampeders signed former Edmonton Elks cornerback Trumaine Washington. The 27-year-old from Miami, Florida, recently attended the Ottawa Redblacks training camp.

Trumaine Washington has played 39 games in the CFL with the Toronto Argonauts (2018-19) and the Edmonton Elks (2021) with 111 tackles, one tackle on special teams, ten interceptions, two touchdowns, and two forced fumbles.

In college, Washington played four seasons at Louisville (2014-17) with 143 tackles, ten tackles for loss, seven sacks, ten interceptions with two of them returned for touchdowns, 32 pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 46 games with the Cardinals.

The Stampeders visit the Hamilton Tiger-Cats this Saturday at 6:30 pm on ESPN+.
