Ocean City Nor’easters win their sixth-straight game in Reading

On Friday night at Alvernia University, the Ocean City Nor’easters (6-0-1) won their sixth straight game 1-0 over Reading United AC (3-2-3). It was their 54th meeting of all time.

The win also extends the Nor’easters road unbeaten streak to 11 games, setting a new club record and breaking the previous record in 2005. The Nor’easters remain in first place with a three-point lead over West Chester United.

Nor’easter midfielder Daniel Diaz-Bonilla scored the lone goal in the game eight minutes in with an assist from Nicolas Cam Orellana. Ocean City goalkeeper Felix Schäfer made five saves and earned his second shutout of the season.

In addition to the unbeaten streak, the Nor’easters extend its winning streak over Reading to five games. For the first time in Ocean City history, they earned back-to-back shutouts against Reading.

The Nor’easters return to Carey Stadium on Sunday against Real Central New Jersey at 7 pm. Tickets for the game can be purchased at OceanCityFC.com.
