On Sunday afternoon at Legion Field, the Michigan Panthers (2-8) took on the Pittsburgh Maulers (1-9) in the final game of the regular season.
On Saturday, the USFL announced that the winner of the game would get the first picks in every round for the upcoming 2023 USFL Draft. Ultimately, the Michigan Panthers beat the Pittsburgh Maulers 33-21 and will have the first picks in every round of the USFL Draft.
Panthers’ quarterback Paxton Lynch was 22/30 for 275 yards, three touchdowns, one interception, and eight carries for 19 yards. Stevie Scott III led the rushers with ten carries for 44 yards, while Ishmael Hyman led the receivers with six catches for 71 yards and one touchdown. The Panthers’ defense allowed 350 yards, 63 tackles, two sacks, one interception, four pass breakups, and one touchdown.
Maulers’ quarterback Vad Lee went 12/22 for 157 yards, two touchdowns, one interception, and three carries for 19 yards, while backup quarterback Roland Rivers was 11/14 for 123 yards, one touchdown, and two carries for 18 yards. James Gilbert led the rushers with 11 carries for 26 yards, while DelVon Hardaway led the receivers with six catches for 100 yards. The Maulers’ defense allowed 334 yards, 72 tackles, three sacks, one interception, and three pass breakups.
