This weekend, the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship hosts the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen at Watkins Glen International and will feature a father-son duo.

Juan Pablo Montoya and his son Sebastian will team up with Henrik Hedman with DragonSpeed LMP2. They teamed up earlier this year at Sebring, and Sebastian was a minute off the pace from taking the lead before handing the driver duties to his dad Juan Pablo Montoya. However, Juan was involved in a multicar crash five minutes later that took them out of the race, and they finished last in the LMP2 category.

Juan Pablo Montoya and Henrik Hedman would rebound to win the Lexus Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio on May 15th.

“I’m super happy to drive again for DragonSpeed at Watkins Glen,” said Sebastian to IMSA.com. “Running Sebring alongside my dad and Henrik was such a great learning experience and huge fun at the same time. The team has one of the best setups in LMP2, so I’m aiming for a winning return!”

The 17-year-old from Miami, Florida, currently competes in the Formula Regional European Championship for Prema Racing. He is currently in ninth place in the point standings and has finished fourth twice at Imola and Circuit Zandvoort.

His dad, Juan, has had an accomplished racing career spanning four decades. He’s won multiple championships, including the 2019 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for Team Penske in DPi, the 1998 International Formula 3000 title, the 1999 CART FedEx Cup Championship, and the 2017 Race of Champions title. In addition, he is a seven-time winner in Formula 1 and has two NASCAR Cup Series wins. Juan Montoya is looking forward to teaming with his son again at Watkins Glen.

“I’m really pleased to have my kid back in the car with Henrik and myself,” Juan Pablo Montoya said to IMSA.com. “He did an amazing job at Sebring, and at The Glen, we want to finish what we started in Florida. If we run as strongly all day as we did in the first couple of hours at Sebring, we should have a solid chance to win.”

The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen is this Sunday at 10:35 am on USA Network and Peacock.
