Nick Pariano scores the lone goal for Ocean City in a draw

Ocean City Nor'easters

On Friday night at Carey Stadium, the Ocean City Nor’easters (7-0-2) played to a 1-1 draw against Reading United AC (3-3-4) to remain undefeated and extend the club’s unbeaten streak to ten games dating back to 2021. This was the final meeting of the season between these two teams and the 55th all-time meeting dating back to 1997.

The Nor’easters were pressuring Reading United’s defense. Ocean City had several shot attempts inside the box before Alessandro Arlotti set up Pablo Marques for a shot, but a Reading defender blocked it. Then, Nick Pariano rebounded the ball and finished the play with the left foot, putting the ball into the net for a 1-0 lead in the 44th minute. It was Pariano’s first goal of the season. The Nor’easters led 1-0 at halftime.

Three minutes into the second half, Reading tied the game off a corner kick when Ryan Kuster kicked the ball into the net with the left foot in the 47th minute, tying the game 1-1.

At stoppage time, the Nor’easters thought they had the winning goal off a corner kick when Marco Milanese’s header bounced off Marco Milanese before Milanese scored the goal, but it was waved off for a foul, and the game ended in a draw 1-1. The Nor’easters had 15 shots, two yellow cards, and Felix Schäfer made three saves.

The Nor’easters head to Kildare’s Turf Field on Wednesday night against West Chester United SC at 7:30 pm.
