On Saturday night at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, located at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, the Birmingham Stallions beat the New Orleans Breakers 31-17 to advance to the USFL Championship Game against the Philadelphia Stars.
Stallions’ quarterback J’Mar Smith was 17/27 for 190 yards, one touchdown, no interceptions, and led the rushers with seven carries for 48 yards and one touchdown. Bo Scarbrough had 11 carries for 39 yards, while Adrian Hardy had had five catches for 74 yards. The Stallions’ defense allowed 389 yards, 63 tackles, two interceptions, seven pass breakups, and one touchdown.
Breakers’ quarterback Kyle Sloter was 22/40 for 327 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions, and one carry for four yards. Anthony Jones led the rushers with 12 carries for 49 yards, while Sal Cannella had 12 catches for 154 yards. The Breakers’ defense allowed 289 yards, 63 tackles, two sacks, and one pass breakup.
The USFL Championship Game is next Sunday at 7:30 pm on FOX.
