On Wednesday, the Reading Royals signed former Suny Brockport defenseman Ryan Romero for the 2022-23 season.

Ryan Romeo (25-years-old) had 12 goals and 25 assists (37 points) in 27 games for the Golden Eagles last season. The Fairport, New York, native made his ECHL debut last season with the Trios-Rivieres Lions scoring one goal and one assist (2 points) in nine games.

Romeo played four seasons at Suny Brockport (2017-22) with 28 goals and 59 assists (87 points) in 97 games. He earned the NCAA III Second Team All-Conference in the 2018-19 season and First Team All-Conference in the 2019-20 season.

In the 2014-15 season, Romero was part of the New Jersey Hitmen’s USPHL Elite championship team with eight goals and 26 assists (34 points) and scored two goals and one assist (3 points) in the playoffs.
