On Wednesday, the Philadelphia Stars signed former Notre Dame Fighting Irish running back Dexter Williams and placed running back Matt Colburn II on the inactive/injured reserve list. Colburn is sixth in the league in rushing with 102 carries for 457 yards and eight touchdowns.
Dexter Williams (25-years-old) was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the sixth round (194th pick) in the 2019 NFL Draft. He played two seasons in Green Bay (2019-20) with seven carries for 19 yards in seven games. After Green Bay, he was on the New York Giants, Cleveland Browns, and Miami Dolphins practice squad.
The Orlando, Florida, native played four seasons at Notre Dame (2015-19) with 257 carries for 1,636 yards, 20 touchdowns, 22 catches for 162 yards, and two touchdowns in 38 games. Williams led the Fighting Irish in his senior year with 995 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns in nine games.
