On Monday, the Montreal Alouettes released linebacker Tre Watson. The 26-year-old from Tampa, Florida, had 17 tackles and one sack in four games this year.
Last Saturday against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Watson had seven tackles and one sack. Watson has 31 tackles and one sack in 12 games for Montreal.
Watson played four seasons at Illinois (2014-2017) with 188 tackles, 2.5 sacks, one interception, four pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 34 games.
Then, Watson transferred to Maryland (2018) with 104 tackles, one sack, five interceptions, eight pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 11 games. He was named to the First Team All-Big Ten in 2018.
