Ocean City Nor’easters and Philadelphia Lone Star FC ends in a scoreless draw

Fresh off clinching the 2022 Mid-Atlantic Divisional Championship, the Ocean City Nor’easters, and Philadelphia Lone Star FC played to a scoreless draw on Wednesday night at the South Philadelphia Super Site.

Nor’easters goalkeeper Felix Schafer earned his fourth clean sheet of the season. He is making a push to break the club’s single-season goals against average, which now stands at 0.66 GAA

The Nor’easters are now 9-0-3 on the season, while the Lone Star FC is 2-6-3. They also extend their unbeaten streak to 13 games. For Ocean City head coach Kevin Nuss, his unbeaten streak reaches 19 games, breaking the previous record set by Dan Christian (18 games) in 2004. The Nor’easters lead the all-time series against Philadelphia 4-1-1.

The two teams will have one more meeting at the South Philadelphia Super Site on Saturday, July 16th, for the final game of the regular season.

The Nor’easters return to Carey Stadium for the final time of the season against West Chester United SC on Sunday at 7 pm. Tickets for the game can be purchased at oceancityfc.com.
