On Sunday at Reid Park Street Circuit in Townsville, Queensland, the Repco Supercars Championship closed out the weekend with Race 20 of the 2022 season.
Cameron Waters started the race on the pole, with Anton De Pasquale starting second. Cameron Waters did not lead a lap but finished in third place. Meanwhile, Shane Van Gisbergen won his eleventh race by 4.498 seconds after De Pasquale hit him on the last corner of the final lap for his 11th win of the season. De Pasquale was issued a five-second time penalty and finished in second place. Van Gisbergen leads De Pasquale by 274 points in the championship standings.
The rest of the top ten finishers were Cameron Waters third, James Courtney fourth, Chaz Mostert fifth, Broc Freeney sixth, Will Davison seventh, Tim Slade eighth, Andre Heimgartner ninth, and Mark Winterbottom tenth.
The Repco Supercars Championship heads to The Bend Motorsport Park in Tailem Bend, South Australia, on the weekend of July 29th through 31st.
