On Sunday, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed longtime veteran punter Jon Ryan and kicker Seth Mall.
Jon Ryan (40-years-old) played 63 games in the CFL with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2004-05) and the Saskatchewan Roughriders (2019-21) with 396 punts for 18,760 yards (47.4 AVG). He was named CFL All-Star Team in 2005 and a two-time CFL West All-Star (2005, 2019).
The Regina, Saskatchewan, native spent 12 seasons in the NFL, ten of them with the Seattle Seahawks (2008-17) and two for the Green Bay Packers (2006-07), with 914 punts for 40,883 yards (44.7 AVG) in 191 games. In 2014, Ryan was on the Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl XLVIII team.
Seth Mall (22-years-old) attended the Tiger-Cats training camp and played in the preseason, making three field goals. He also attended the Indianapolis Colts mini-camp this year.
The Katy, Texas, native played 46 games, making 71 of 91 field goals (78%) with his longest field goal for 52 yards (2018), 164 PATs, and a game-winning 21-yard field goal against Alabama in 2021. He currently holds the record in field goals (71), points scored (377), and ranks second all-time in PATs made (164).
