On Monday, forward Brennan Saulnier signed with the Laval Rocket, while defenseman Adam Clendening signed with the Rockford Ice Hogs.
Brennan Saulnier signed a one-year, one-way contract with the Laval Rocket. The 28-year-old from Halifax, Nova Scotia, played two seasons for the Phantoms with seven goals and six assists (13 points) in 59 games. He also played for the Reading Royals last season with four goals and four assists (8 points) in eight games. During the Royals playoff run, Saulnier had two goals and two assists (4 points) in 11 games.
Adam Clendening returns to Rockford for the third time after spending one season with the Phantoms. The 29-year-old from Niagara Falls, New York, had five goals and 37 assists (42 points) in 74 games. Clendening is the Ice Hogs’ all-time leader in assists (122) and points (148).
This will be Clendening’s tenth year in the AHL. In addition to the Rockford and Lehigh Valley, he also played in Utica, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Tucson, and Cleveland with 45 goals and 240 assists (285 points) in 444 games. In the AHL playoffs, Clendening has four goals and 18 assists (22 points) in 36 games. Clendening is a two-time AHL All-Star, an AHL Second Team All-Star (2013), and First Team All-Star (2014).
