On Wednesday, the Toronto Argonauts signed former Arizona Wildcats quarterback Khalil Tate. The 23-year-old from Inglewood, California, attended the Edmonton Elks training camp.
Khalil Tate was with the Philadelphia Eagles for two seasons as Philadelphia were converting him into a wide receiver. The Eagles signed Tate as an undrafted free agent in 2020.
Tate played 40 games in four seasons (2016-19) at the University of Arizona. As the Wildcats’ quarterback, Tate completed 459 passes for 6,318 yards, 57 touchdowns, 31 interceptions, 366 carries for 2,285 yards, and 18 touchdowns.
Khalil Tate became the first player in PAC-12 history to win the Offensive Player of the Week four times. Tate was a 2017 Maxwell Award Finalist, 2017 Manning Award Finalist, and 2017 Davey O’Brien Award Semifinalist.
