On Friday, Philadelphia Stars tight end Johnathan “Bug” Howard signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Stars drafted Howard in the thirty-fourth round (269th pick) in the 2022 USFL Draft.
The 27-years-old from Rochelle, Georgia, started eight of ten games with 30 catches for 371 yards and four touchdowns. Howard was on the Buffalo Bills practice squad in 2021. He also had stints with the Colts, Browns, Panthers, Broncos, and Jaguars.
Howard played 53 games in four seasons (2013-16) at North Carolina with 146 catches for 2,048 yards and 18 touchdowns. In 2019, he played for the Atlanta Legends of the AAF, catching 17 passes for 220-yards.
