On Thursday, the Reading Royals signed forward Brendan Hoffmann for the 2022-23 season. The 20-year-old from Charlotte, North Carolina, scored 20 goals and 14 assists (34 points) in 63 games last year with the Erie Otters.

The Erie Otters drafted Hoffmann in the seventh round (140th pick) in the 2017 OHL Draft. Hoffmann played four seasons in Erie with 44 goals and 30 assists (74 points) in 189 games.

Hoffmann also played for the Toronto Jr. Canadiens U16 AAA in the GTHL U16 with ten goals and 17 assists (27 points) in 32 games, and Toronto Jr. Canadiens U18 AAA in the GTHL U18 with 12 goals and 13 assists (25 points) in 33 games.

He also played for the Toronto Jr. Canadiens in the OJHL with one goal in seven games. In addition, he played two games in the OJHL playoffs.
