On Tuesday, the Toronto Argonauts signed former Northern Alabama defensive back Maurice Carnell IV and long-snapper Max Latour. The Argonauts also announced they released quarterback Khalil Tate.

Maurice Carnell IV is a 27-year-old from San Diego, California, played one game for the Ticats in 2019. Carnell spent part of the 2021 season in Hamilton but did not see any action. This year, he attended the Argonauts’ training camp, but an injury sidelined him.

Maurice Carnell IV played two seasons at Grossmont College (2014-15) in California with 69 tackles and four interceptions in 19 games. Then, Carnell transferred to Northern Alabama (2016-17) with 64 tackles, six interceptions, and one touchdown in 23 games.

Max Latour is a 29-year-old from Valleyfield, Quebec. He played six games last year in Toronto, including the 2021 Eastern Final against Hamilton. In addition, Latour spent time with the Ottawa Redblacks and played three games for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2019.
