On Wednesday, Philadelphia Stars running back Dexter Williams signed with the Green Bay Packers. This will be Williams’ second stint in Green Bay. He becomes the eighth player from Philadelphia to sign with an NFL team. The 25-year-old from Orlando, Florida, played in the USFL Championship game with eight carries for 29 yards and four catches for 73 yards.
The Green Bay Packers drafted Williams in the sixth round (194th pick) in the 2019 NFL Draft. He played two seasons in Green Bay (2019-20) with seven carries for 19 yards in seven games. After Green Bay, he was on the New York Giants, Cleveland Browns, and Miami Dolphins practice squad.
Williams played four seasons at Notre Dame (2015-19) with 257 carries for 1,636 yards, 20 touchdowns, 22 catches for 162 yards, and two touchdowns in 38 games. Williams led the Fighting Irish in his senior year with 995 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns in nine games.
