On Tuesday, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms re-signed forward Ryan Fitzgerald for the 2022-23 season. The 27-year-old from Boca Raton, Florida, played four games after missing the majority of the season following surgeries on both hips.
This will be Fitzgerald’s third season in Lehigh Valley and seventh in the AHL. Fitzgerald has 55 goals and 69 assists (124) points in 227 games in seven years in the AHL.
Ryan Fitzgerald went to Boston College (2013-16) and played four seasons with 66 goals and 66 assists in 152 games. The Boston Bruins drafted Fitzgerald in the fourth round (120th pick) in the 2013 NHL Draft. After Boston College, Fitzgerald went to the Providence Bruins.
He played four seasons in Providence with 43 goals and 60 assists (103 points) in 195 games. In addition, Fitzgerald scored three goals and five assists (8 points) in 20 playoff games.
After four seasons in Providence, Fitzgerald signed with the Phantoms. In two seasons with the Phantoms, Fitzgerald has 12 goals and nine assists (21 points) in 32 games.
