On Wednesday, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms re-signed forward Alex Kile for the 2022-23 season. The 28-year-old from Troy, Michigan, had four goals and three assists (7 points) in 27 games for the Phantoms last year.
In addition, Kile had nine goals and nine assists (18 points) for the Maine Mariners last season. This summer, Kile played for Team LeClair in the inaugural 3ICE League with 14 goals and eight assists (22 points).
Kile played for the Green Bay Gamblers for two seasons in the USHL, with 47 goals and 47 assists (94 points) in 114 games. In addition, he had five goals and four assists (9 points) in 16 games in the USHL playoffs, helping Green Bay win the USHL Clark Cup Champion in 2012.
Then, Kile played four seasons at the University of Michigan (2013-16) and was the captain in his senior year. He scored 40 goals and 40 assists (80 points) in 130 games. Kile helped Michigan win the BIG 10 championship in 2016.
After college, Kile signed with the Rochester Americans with two goals and one assist (3 points) in 11 games. In the 2017-18 season, Kile played one game for the Rochester Americans before going to the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL, scoring 15 goals and 13 assists (28 points) in 46 games. In addition, Kile had a goal and an assist (2 points) in five playoff games.
Kile played five seasons in the ECHL with the Cyclones, Maine Mariners, and Florida Everblades with 78 goals and 90 assists (168 points) in 205 games while scoring five goals and five assists (10 points) in 13 ECHL playoff games.
Kile has played four seasons in the AHL with Americans, Phantoms, Utica Comets, Hartford Wolf Pack, and Laval Rocket, with 12 goals and six assists (18 points) in 78 games.
