Montreal Alouettes

On Wednesday, the Montreal Alouettes released defensive back Jarnor Jones. The 28-year-old from Lithonia, Georgia, played one game with four tackles this year. He was in his second year in Montreal. In 2019, Jones had 23 tackles and 11 tackles on special teams in 17 games.

Jones began his collegiate career at North Carolina State (2012-13), redshirting his freshmen year, and played two games in 2013. Then, Jones transferred to Georgia Military for one season with 40 tackles, five tackles for loss, eight pass breakups, and two interceptions.

Finally, Jones transferred to Iowa State (2015-16) with 78 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, one interception, and 11 pass breakups in 24 games.

After college, Jones signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He was among the final cuts in training camp. Shortly after being released by the Falcons, Jones was picked up by the San Francisco 49ers and placed on their practice squad.

However, the 49ers released Jones in October of 2017. In 2019, Jones attended the Winnipeg Blue Bombers training camp before signing with Montreal.
