On Wednesday, the Calgary Stampeders signed former USC Trojans running back Aca’Cedric Ware and linebacker Perry Young.
Aca’Cedric Ware is a 25-year-old from DeSoto, Texas, who was on the Stampeders practice squad for most of the 2021 season after playing for the Sea Lions in The Spring League. He signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2019 and spent time on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad in 2020.
Ware played four seasons at USC (2015-18) with 264 carries for 1,505 yards, ten touchdowns, and 19 catches for 126 yards in 46 games.
Perry Young is a 24-year-old from Homewood, Alabama, who attended the Stampeders training camp in May. Young played four seasons at Cincinnati (2016-19) with 269 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 11 pass breakups, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and two interceptions in 46 games. He was named to the First-Team All-American Athletic Conference in 2019.
