On Sunday, Saskatchewan Roughriders running Jamal Morrow underwent surgery on Sunday to repair a broken hand that he suffered in the Roughriders 28-10 loss to the BC Lions and will miss six to eight weeks, according to Saskatchewan’s team play-by-play announcer Michael Ball. Morrow had six carries for 34 yards and four catches for five yards in last Friday’s game against the Lions.

The 27-year-old from Menifee, California, had 110 carries for 564 yards, two touchdowns, 34 catches for 305 yards, and one touchdown in ten games this season with Saskatchewan. In 18 career games, Morrow has 119 carries for 605 yards, two touchdowns, 37 catches for 334 yards, and one touchdown.

Morrow played five seasons at Washington State (2013-17) with 316 carries for 1,795 yards, nine touchdowns, 202 catches for 1,748 yards, and 14 touchdowns in 50 games. Morrow is a two-time All-Pac-12 Conference honorable mention.

In the meanwhile, Frankie Hickson will take over running duties. Hickson has 35 carries for 234 yards, one touchdown, and eight carries for 42 yards in his first season with the Roughriders.
