Reading Royals acquire New Jersey native Nick Minerva from Jacksonville

 On Monday, the Reading Royals acquired defenseman Nick Minerva from the Jacksonville Icemen for Future Considerations. The 26-year-old from New Brunswick, New Jersey, had two goals and six assists (8 points) in 33 games last season with the Wichita Thunder.

In his youth days, Minerva played for the New Jersey Titans 13U, 14U, and 16U teams. He scored 33 goals and 53 assists (86 points) in 100 games. Later, Minerva returned as an assistant coach for the Titans during the 2021-22 season.

In addition, Minerva played one season for the Philadelphia Revolution in the EmJHL during the 2012-13 season with ten goals and 15 assists (25 points) in 38 games.

Nick Minerva played a season in NCAA III with Aurora University and Neumann University with five goals and eight assists (13 assists) in 23 games. Then, Minerva played three seasons for the Macon Mayhem (SPHL) with four goals and 28 assists (32 points) in 92 games.

In addition, he played six games in the SPHL playoffs during the 2020-21 season and was named to the SPHL First All-Star Team.

Minerva started his ECHL career in the 2019-20 season after Macon loaned him to the Wheeling Nailers, scoring three goals and six assists (9 points) in 47 games. The Mayhem loaned him to the Tulsa Oilers the following season, scoring one goal in ten games.
