On Monday, the Saskatchewan Roughriders signed former Marshall defensive back and Last Chance U star C.J. Reavis. Reavis attended the Roughriders training came earlier this year. The Roughriders also announced that linebacker Gary Johnson Jr. was moved to the suspended list.

C.J. Reavis is a 26-year-old from Chester, Virginia, who was recently with the Atlanta Falcons practice squad for two seasons. Before that, Reavis signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He played one game for the Jaguars with one tackle.

Reavis started his collegiate career at Virginia Tech in 2014 with five tackles and one forced fumble in 11 games. Then, he transferred to East Mississippi Community College in 2015 with 40 tackles, eight pass breakups, two interceptions, and one touchdown in six games. During his only season at East Mississippi, he appeared on the hit show Last Chance U.

Finally, Reavis transferred to Marshall (2016-17), where he had 132 tackles, one fumble recovery, four pass breakups, and one interception in 21 games.
