On Monday, the Saskatchewan Roughriders signed former Duke running back Shaun Wilson and former Louisiana-Lafayette quarterback Levi Lewis.
Shaun Wilson, a 26-year-old from Charlotte, North Carolina, was with the BC Lions in 2021. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Wilson as an undrafted free agent from Duke.
He made his NFL debut in 2018 against the New Orleans Saints with one carry for six yards and a 29-yard kick return. In 2019, he was with the Washington Redskins (now the Commanders) and spent time with the Tennessee Titans in 2020.
Wilson played four seasons at Duke University (2014-17) with 475 carries for 2,463 yards, 18 touchdowns, 81 catches for 725 yards, and six touchdowns.
Levi Lewis, a 24-year-old from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, attended mini-camp with the Seattle Seahawks before he was released. Lewis played five seasons at Louisiana-Lafayette (2017-21) with 721/1,179 completions for 9,203 yards, 74 touchdowns, 18 interceptions, 286 carries for 1,088 yards, and 14 touchdowns. He is a two-time Second Team All-Sun Belt, MVP in the LendingTree Bowl (2020), and the MVP of the New Orleans Bowl (2021).
