On Tuesday, the Ottawa Redblacks signed defensive back Brandin Dandridge and former Kent State quarterback Dustin Crum.
Brandin Dandridge, a 26-year-old from Lee’s Summit, Missouri, returns to the Redblacks after attending training camp for the Kansas City Chiefs. Dandridge played two seasons in Ottawa (2019, 2021) with 24 tackles and four interceptions in 12 games.
Dandridge played five seasons at Missouri Western (2014-18) with 131 tackles, 50 pass breakups, one forced fumble, four fumble recoveries, one block on special teams, and 11 interceptions in 46 games.
In addition, he had two kick returns for 43 yards, 27 punt returns for 361 yards, and one touchdown. He was named Second Team All-MIAA (Defensive Back) and First Team All-MIAA (Returner) in 2018.
Dustin Crum, a 23-year-old from Grafton, Ohio, attended training camp for the Kansas City Chiefs. He played five seasons at Kent State (2017-21) with 576/864 completions for 7,401 yards, 55 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, 477 carries for 2,071 yards, and 24 touchdowns in 50 games.
In the 2019 Frisco Bowl, Crum was 21/26 completions for 289 yards and two touchdowns, helping the Golden Flashes beat the Utah State Aggies 51-41, and was named MVP.
