Toronto Argonauts signs NFL veteran defensive lineman Damontre Moore

On Saturday, the Toronto Argonauts signed former New York Giants defensive lineman Damontre Moore. The 30-year-old from Rowlett, Texas, was on the Carolina Panthers practice squad last season.

The New York Giants drafted Moore in the third round (81st pick) in the 2013 NFL Draft from Texas A&M. He played 66 career games in the NFL for the Giants, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, Dallas Cowboys, Oakland Raiders, and San Francisco 49ers. He had 97 tackles, 11 sacks, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, four pass breakups, and two blocks on special teams.

Moore played three seasons at Texas A&M (2010-12) with 116 tackles, 26.5 sacks, one interception, five pass breakups, eight forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and two blocks on special teams. He was named Freshman All-Big 12 honors in 2010, and in 2012 was named first-team All-American and a first-team All-Southeastern Conference.
