Toronto Argonauts signs former first-round pick offensive lineman Ryan Hunter

Toronto Argonauts

On Friday, the Toronto Argonauts signed former Bowling Green offensive lineman Ryan Hunter. The 27-year-old from North Bay, Ontario, was drafted by the Argonauts in the first round (9th pick) in the 2018 CFL Draft. However, he did not sign with them and instead went to the NFL.

Hunter signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent and played three games in 2019, including Super Bowl LIV, when the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers to win its first championship since 1969.

After the Chiefs released him at the end of training camp, Hunter signed with the Los Angeles Chargers practice squad. The Chargers released him on August 30th, 2022.

Collegiately, Hunter spent five seasons at Bowling Green (2013-17), playing 52 games at left tackle and right tackle. He is a four-time Academic All-MAC and three-time MAC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete.
