On Saturday night at SHI Stadium, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights fell to the Iowa Hawkeyes 27-10 for their first loss of the season at 3-1, while the Hawkeyes moved to 3-1.

Rutgers quarterback Evan Simon was 28/49 for 300 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions, and four carries for zero yards. Running back Samuel Brown V had six carries for 34 yards, while wide receiver Aron Cruickshank had seven catches for 55 yards and one touchdown.

The Scarlet Knights’ defense allowed 277 yards, 69 tackles, three sacks, and three pass breakups. Rutgers plays Ohio State next Saturday at 3:30 pm on the Big Ten Network.

Iowa quarterback Spencer Petras was 11/17 for 148 yards and four carries for -13 yards. Running back Leshon Williams had 11 carries for 64 yards, and one touchdown, while tight end Sam LaPorta had four catches for 77 yards.

Iowa’s defense allowed 361 yards, 72 tackles, three sacks, five pass breakups, two interceptions, and one touchdown. Iowa plays Michigan next Saturday at noon on FOX.
