On Tuesday, the Saskatchewan Roughriders signed former Clemson defensive back T.J. Green and former North Carolina Pembroke defensive back Devin Jones.
T.J. Green, a 27-year-old from Sylacauga, Alabama, was on the Houston Texans practice squad last season. The Colts drafted Green in the second round (57th pick) in the 2016 NFL Draft. The seven-year NFL pro played for the Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, and the Texans with 103 tackles and four pass breakups in 41 games.
Collegiately, Green played three seasons at Clemson (2013-15) with 162 tackles, one interception, and 24 kick returns for 505 yards in 26 games.
Devin Jones, a 23-year-old from Mooresville, North Carolina, attended the Carolina Panthers rookie minicamp earlier this year. Collegiately, Jones played five seasons at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (2017-21) with 112 tackles, five interceptions, 21 pass breakups, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one block on special teams in 42 games.
In addition, Jones had two catches for 109 yards, one touchdown, 87 kick returns for 1,965 yards, four touchdowns, 44 punt returns for 439 yards, and one touchdown.
