Brenton Strange scores a touchdown for Penn State in a 17-7 win over Northwestern

On a rainy Saturday afternoon at Beaver Stadium, the Penn State Nittany Lions won their fifth straight game with a 17-7 win over the Northwestern Wildcats, who dropped to 1-4 for the season.

Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford was 10/20 for 140 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and three carries for 13 yards. Running back Nicholas Singleton had 21 carries for 87 yards and one touchdown, and tight end Brenton Strange had one catch for 20 yards and one touchdown.

Penn State’s defense allowed 241 yards, 48 tackles, one sack, eight pass breakups, and one interception. Penn State plays Michigan on October 15th. Time and channel to be announced.

Northwestern quarterback Ryan Hilinski was 15/37 for 210 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Running back Evan Hull had 11 carries for 45 yards, while wide receiver Jacob Gill had one catch for 47 yards and one touchdown.

Northwestern’s defense allowed 360 yards, 81 tackles, two pass breakups, and one interception. Northwestern plays Wisconsin next Saturday at 3:30 pm on BTN.
