Winnipeg Blue Bombers add three players to the practice squad

On Tuesday, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers added wide receivers Timothy Knuettel, Luke McMillan, and offensive lineman Jakub Szott to the practice squad. In a separate move, the Blue Bombers released wide receiver Kelvin McKnight from the practice squad.

Timothy Knuettel, a 30-year-old from Berlin, Germany, was with the Rhein Fire (ELF) this year with 57 catches for 688 yards and seven touchdowns in ten games.

In the 2021 season, Knuettel played for the Leipzig Kings (ELF) with 51 catches for 701 yards and 12 touchdowns in ten games. Collegiately, Knuettel played at Seton Hall. In 2017, he had 41 catches for 444 yards in ten games.

Luke McMillan, a 22-year-old from Winnipeg, Manitoba, attended the Blue Bombers training camp earlier this year. McMillan recently played for the Winnipeg Rifles (CJFL) with 42 catches for 466 yards and three touchdowns in ten games.

Jakub Szott, a 24-year-old from Toronto, Ontario, played 14 games for the Redblacks last season. The Redblacks drafted Szott in the fourth round (29th pick) in the 2020 CFL Draft from McMaster University. He was on the Redblacks practice squad for most of the 2022 season before being released in August.
