Highlights: Repco Supercars Championship Bathurst 1,000

Shane Van Gisbergen leading the last lap at Bathurst

On Sunday, the Repco Supercars Championship had its signature event and the longest race of the season, known as the Bathurst 1,000, at Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales.

Shane Van Gisbergen and Garth Tander won the race by 1.099 seconds over Chaz Mostert and Fabian Coulthard. It was the second time in three years that van Gisbergen and Garth Tander combined to win the race.

It was also the final win for Holden at Bathurst, as the Chevy Camaro will replace the Commodore when the Gen3 era commences in 2023. It’s Van Gisbergen’s 19th win of the year.

The rest of the top ten finishers were Cameron Waters/James Moffat third, Brodie Kostecki/David Russell fourth, Broc Feeney/Jamie Whincup fifth, Lee Holdsworth/Matthew Payne sixth, Anton De Pasqual/Tony D’Alberto seventh, Craig Lowndes/Declan Fraser eighth, Bryce Fullward/Dean Fiore ninth, and Will Brown/Jack Perkins tenth.

The Repco Supercars Championship heads to the Surfers Paradise Street Circuit in Gold Coast, Queensland, on the weekend of October 28th-30th.
