Edmonton Elks and OL Jesse Gibbon agree to a two-year extension

On Tuesday, the Edmonton Elks re-signed offensive lineman Jesse Gibbon to a two-year extension through the 2024 season. The 25-year-old from Hamilton, Ontario, has played five games since being acquired from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on September 2nd.

In the trade, the Elks got Gibbon along with a 2023 second-round pick, and Hamilton got offensive lineman David Beard and a 2023 fourth-round pick. Jesse Gibbon played eleven games for Hamilton this year before being traded to Edmonton.

The Tiger-Cats drafted Gibbon in the first round (2nd pick) in the 2019 CFL Draft out of Waterloo. He’s played in 42 career games in Hamilton, five postseason games, and two Grey Cup appearances in 2019 and 2021.

In addition, Edmonton released offensive lineman Dennis Bardwell. Bardwell did not see any game action with Edmonton after being signed on September 1st.
