On Friday, the Edmonton Elks re-signed defensive back Scott Hutter to a two-year contract extension through the 2024 season. The 25-year-old from London, Ontario, has 53 tackles, nine tackles on special teams, and one forced fumble in 16 games for Edmonton this year.
Edmonton drafted Scott Hutter in the sixth round (50th pick) in the 2019 CFL Draft from Wilfrid Laurier. In three seasons with Edmonton, Hutter has 53 tackles, 25 tackles on special teams, and one forced fumble in 31 games.
Collegiately, Hutter played four seasons at Wilfrid Laurier (2015-18) with 153 tackles, 6.5 sacks, ten interceptions, one touchdown, 27 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 40 games. He helped Wilfrid Laurier win the 2016 2016 Men’s Football OUA Champions.
Hutter is a two-time USPORTS Academic All-Canadian (2017, 2018), and a 2018 OUA Men’s Football Second Team All-Star.
