On Thursday night at FBC Mortgage Stadium, the Temple Owls lost their fourth game of the season in a 70-13 loss to the UCF Knights. The Owls remain winless in conference play at 0-2. Meanwhile, UCF are 5-1 and 2-0 in conference play this season.
Temple quarterback E.J. Warner was 24/43 for 234 yards and one touchdown. Running back Edward Saydee had nine carries for 41 yards, while wide receiver Jose Barbon had seven catches for 93 yards and one touchdown.
Temple’s defense allowed 737 yards, 65 tackles, one sack, one pass breakup, and one quarterback hit. Temple host the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes next Friday at 7:30 pm on ESPN2.
UCF quarterback John Rhys Plumlee was 18/22 for 373 yards, four touchdowns, seven carries for 37 yards, and one touchdown. Running back Thomas Castellanos had three carries for 88 yards and one touchdown, while wide receiver Kobe Hudson had four catches for 121 yards and four touchdowns.
UCF’s defense allowed 293 yards, 62 tackles, four pass breakups, and nine quarterback hits. UCF visits East Carolina next Saturday at 7:30 pm on ESPNU.
