On Saturday night at Beaver Stadium, the Penn State Nittany Lions battled the Minnesota Golden Gophers in Big Ten action.
The Nittany Lions won their sixth game of the season 45-17 over Minnesota, and are now 3-1 in conference play. Meanwhile, Minnesota are now 4-3, 1-3 in conference play.
Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford was 23/31 for 295 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. Running back Nicholas Singleton had 13 carries for 79 yards, and two touchdowns, while wide receiver Theo Johnson had five catches for 75 yards and one touchdown.
Penn State’s defense allowed 340 yards, with 70 tackles, one sack, six pass breakups, and one interception. Penn State plays Ohio State next Saturday at noon on FOX.
Minnesota quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis went 9/22 for 175 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and seven carries for 45 yards. Running back Mohamed Ibrahim had 30 carries for 102 yards, and one touchdown, while tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford had five catches for 68 yards and one touchdown.
Minnesota’s defense allowed 479 yards, with 67 tackles, two pass breakups, and one interception. Minnesota battles Rutgers next Saturday at 2:30 pm on Big Ten Network.
