On Wednesday, the Philadelphia Eagles acquired defensive end Robert Quinn from the Chicago Bears in exchange for a fourth-round pick. The 32-year-old from Ladson, South Carolina, has eight tackles and one sack in seven games this year.
In addition, NFL Network writer Albert Breer said on Twitter that the Bears are picking up $7.1 million of Quinn’s salary, and the Eagles will pay him the veteran minimum of $700,000.
This is Quinn’s eleventh season in the NFL. The Los Angeles Rams (then St. Louis Rams) drafted Quinn in the first round (14th pick) in the 2011 NFL Draft. He played seven seasons for the Rams with 210 tackles, 62.5 sacks, and 17 pass breakups in 95 games.
In 2018, Quinn was traded to the Miami Dolphins. He played one season in Miami with 37 tackles and 6.5 sacks in 16 games. The following year, Miami traded Quinn to the Dallas Cowboys and played one season with 34 tackles, 11.5 sacks, and three pass breakups in 14 games.
After Dallas, Quinn signed a five-year contract with the Chicago Bears in 2021. He had 43 tackles and 18.5 sacks. He was selected to the Pro Bowl for the third time in his career.
Collegiately, Quinn played two seasons at North Carolina (2008-09) with 86 tackles, 13 sacks, and eight forced fumbles in 25 games. He was selected to the First-team All-ACC in 2009.
