On Sunday afternoon at the Surfers Paradise Street Circuit in Gold Coast, Queensland, the Repco Supercars Championship held race 32 of the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500.
Shane van Gisbergen dominated the race from the pole position, leading all 85 laps for his 21st win of the season. It was Gisbergen’s fifth win in a row. He beat Chaz Mostert by 2.1 seconds.
The highlight of the race was a pile-up at the beach chicane on the fourth lap, causing six cars to be out of the race, including James Golding and Nick Percat.
The rest of the top ten finishers were Will Davison third, David Reynolds fourth, Brodie Kostecki fifth, Mark Winterbottom sixth, Cam Waters seventh, Andre Heimgartner eighth, Chris Pither ninth, and Tim Slade tenth.
The Repco Supercars Championship will wrap up the 2022 season in December at Adelaide Parklands Circuit for the VALO Adelaide 500.
