On Tuesday, the Saskatchewan Roughriders announced several coaching changes. First, Saskatchewan relieved offensive coordinator Jason Maas of his duties.

In addition, Run Game Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach Stephen Sorrells and Receivers Coach Travis Moore will not have their contracts renewed. This comes after the Roughriders finished 6-12, missing the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the Roughriders announced that Head Coach Craig Dickerson and Vice President of Football Operations Jeremy O’Day will return in 2023. Both are under contract through the 2023 season. Dickerson will enter his fifth season as the Roughriders’ Head Coach, while Jeremy O’Day will enter his 25th season with the organization.

Craig Dickerson became the 47th Head Coach in franchise history on January 19th, 2019. He is 28-22, hosted two playoff games, and led the team in 2019 to win its first West Divisional title in more than a decade.

“Craig is an excellent coach, a strong leader and truly represents the values of the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club,” said Vice President of Football Operations Jeremy O’Day. “Throughout his last four seasons, I have watched as he worked hard to bring out the best in our players on the field and off the field. I know he is committed as I am to bring a championship-caliber team to the field in 2023.”

Jeremy O’Day will enter his fifth year as the team’s Vice President of Football Operations and General Manager. O’Day played 13 seasons in the CFL with the Toronto Argonauts and Saskatchewan Roughriders as an offensive lineman. He was a three-time CFL All-Star (2006-07, 2009), a three-time Grey Cup champion (1997, 2007, 2013), a six-time CFL West All-Star (2003, 2005-07, 2009-10), and a winner of the 2008 Tom Pate Memorial Award for community service.

After announcing his retirement on February 8th, 2011, O’Day was named Assistant General Manager of the Saskatchewan Roughriders on November 9th, 2011.

“Jeremy is a lifelong Roughrider, who cares deeply about the success of the organization and knows firsthand what success means to our fan base,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Craig Reynolds. “He is a proven winner throughout his career, and I wholeheartedly believe he has the talent, knowledge, and vision to move forward and build a winning team in 2023.”
