On Saturday afternoon at TDECU Stadium, the Temple Owls (3-7, 1-5 CONF) lost a close game 43-36 to the Houston Cougars (6-4, 4-2 CONF).
Temple quarterback E.J. Warner was 42/59 for 486 yards, and three touchdowns. Running back Edward Saydee had 17 carries for 20 yards, and one touchdown, while wide receiver Jose Barbon had eight catches for 128 yards.
Temple’s defense allowed 485 yards, with 59 tackles, two sacks, two pass breakups, and one interception. Temple plays Cincinnati next Saturday.
Houston quarterback Clayton Tune was 29/40 for 289 yards, three touchdowns, one interception, 11 carries for 29 yards, and one touchdown. Running back Stacy Sneed had 11 carries for 143 yards, and two touchdowns, while wide receiver Nathaniel Dell had 12 catches for 98 yards and one touchdown.
Houston’s defense allowed 533 yards, with 78 tackles, one sack, and eight pass breakups. Houston plays East Carolina next Saturday.
