Alec Butcher scores his first goal of the season for the Royals in a 6-2 win over Worcester

On Wednesday night at the DCU Center, the Reading Royals (5-4-1) won their fourth game in a row 6-2 over the Worcester Railers (10-1).

In the first period, Alec Butcher (2) put the Royals up 1-0 three minutes and seventeen seconds in with an assist from Trey Bradley. Then, the Railers tied it up 1-1 on a goal by Collin Adams (6) with an assist from Jimmy Lambert.

Next, Max Newton (7,8) scored two goals, including a power-play goal for a 3-1 lead. Furthermore, Brendan Hoffmann (1) made it 4-1 late in the first period with an assist from Jacob Gaucher.

One minute and twenty seconds into the second period, Tyler Kirkup (2) scored a goal for a 5-1 with assists from Colin Felix and Will MacKinnon. Less than two minutes later, Blake Christensen (1) cut the Royals’ lead to 5-2 with an assist from Steve Jandric.

Finally, Trey Bradley (2) scored a power-play goal at 11:15 for a 6-2 lead with assists from Charlie Gerard and Garrett McFadden. There were no goals scored in the third period, and the Royals won the game 6-2.

The Royals finished the night with 20 shots, 2/3 on the power play, and Nolan Maier made 30 saves. Meanwhile, the Railers had 32 shots, 0/4 on the power play, Henrik Tikkanen made five saves and Ken Appleby made nine saves.
