On Wednesday, the Philadelphia Eagles signed 11-year NFL veteran defensive lineman Linval Joseph to a one-year contract. The 34-year-old from Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, played two seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers with 110 tackles and one sack in 30 games.

The New York Giants drafted Joseph in the second round (46th pick) in the 2010 NFL Draft out of East Carolina. Joseph played four seasons for the Giants with 143 tackles, nine sacks, and four pass breakups in 53 games. Joseph helped the Giants win Super Bowl XLVI over the New England Patriots.

Then, Joseph left the Giants for the Minnesota Vikings in 2014. He played five seasons for the Vikings with 286 tackles, 12 sacks, and two pass breakups in 75 games. During his time with the Vikings, Joseph was selected to two Pro Bowls.

Collegiately, Joseph played three seasons at East Carolina (2007-09) with 136 tackles, six sacks, two pass breakups, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and three blocks on special teams in 40 games. He was selected to the First-team All-C-USA in 2009.

In addition, the Eagles placed tight end Dallas Goedert on injured reserve for an injured shoulder suffered in Monday night’s 32-21 loss to the Washington Commanders. Before the injury, Goedert had three catches for 23 yards and one touchdown. Goedert has 43 catches for 544 yards, and three touchdowns with the Eagles this year.
