On Thursday, the Philadelphia Eagles signed Super Bowl champion defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh to a one-year contract.
The 35-year-old from Portland, Oregon, played three seasons for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2019-21) with 112 tackles, 14.5 sacks, six pass breakups, one forced fumble, and five fumble recoveries in 49 games. Suh helped the Buccaneers win Super Bowl LV over the Kansas City Chiefs 31-9 in dominant fashion with 1.5 sacks. Suh confirmed the news on his Twitter account.
Collegiately, Suh played five seasons at Nebraska (2005-09) with 215 tackles, 24 sacks, 15 pass breakups, four interceptions, two touchdowns, three forced fumbles, and six blocks on special teams in 55 games. He is a two-time First-Team All-Big 12. Among other awards Suh won are the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year, Outland Trophy, Lombardi Award, Chuck Bednarik Award, and the Bill Willis Trophy.
The Detroit Lions drafted Suh in the first round (2nd pick) in the 2010 NFL Draft. Suh played five seasons in Detroit (2010-14) with 239 tackles, 36 sacks, one safety, 15 pass breakups, one interception, and two forced fumbles in 78 games. After Detroit, Suh signed with the Miami Dolphins (2015-17) as a free agent.
Suh played three seasons in Miami with 181 tackles, 15.5 sacks, 13 pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 48 games. Then, Suh signed with the Los Angeles Rams in 2018 with 59 tackles, 4.5 sacks, four pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries in 16 games. In Super Bowl XLIII, Suh had two tackles in a 13-3 loss to the New England Patriots. Afterward, Suh signed with the Buccaneers in 2019.
In his 13-year career, Suh is a three-time First-Team All-Pro (2010, 2013, 2014), five-time Pro Bowler (2010, 2012–2014, 2016), NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year (2010), and the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team.
