On Thursday, the Philadelphia Stars signed former Florida State cornerback Stanford Samuels III to a one-year contract.
The 23-year-old from Pembroke Pines, Florida, played two games for the Green Bay Packers in 2020 with three tackles after signing with them as an undrafted free agent. He later spent time with the Chicago Bears and Las Vegas Raiders.
Samuels played three seasons at Florida State (2017-19) with 145 tackles, 11 pass breakups, eight interceptions, one forced fumble, and one sack in 37 games. In 2018, his four interceptions were ranked fourth in the ACC, 16th in NCAA, and was second-highest by a Seminole since 2008.
