On Sunday afternoon at the Santander Arena, the Reading Royals (7-4-1) won their sixth straight game 3-2 over the Adirondack Thunder (2-6-3).
Five minutes and fifty-four seconds into the first period, Trey Bradley (3) put the Royals up 1-0 with assists from Garrett McFadden and Will MacKinnon. Later in the first period, Yvan Mongo (2) scored a power-play goal for a 2-0 lead with assists by Jacob Gaucher and Mason Millman.
In the second period, Colin Felix (3) extended the Royals’ lead to 3-0 at 14:26 with assists from Tyler Kirkup and Will MacKinnon. Finally, in the third period, Adirondack scored two goals in the third period by Shawn Weller (3) and Patrick Grasso (6) with a minute left in the game.
The Royals finished the afternoon with 27 shots, 1/8 on the power play, and Nolan Maier made 21 saves. Meanwhile, the Thunder had 23 shots, 1/6 on the power play, and Jake Theut made 24 saves.
